Our Legal Boundaries

Always Respecting the line between Service and Legal advice.

Chamberside operates with utmost respect for the laws governing legal practice in Singapore.

We do not provide legal advice, draft legal instruments, interpret Wills, or act as legal representatives.

Instead, we serve as administrative, emotional, and liaison support for lay executors and families within the boundaries permitted by law.

Key Distinctions

Here’s what we do, and what we don’t do:

  • We Can...

Guide you through executor tasks like CPF/HDB/IRAS/ICA form submission.

Draft and send letters to government agencies, insurers, and banks on your behalf.

Help you understand the sequence of post-death tasks.

Support family communication, conflict de-escalation, and emotional navigation.

Act under a Letter of Authorisation (LOA) for permitted errands.

Liaise with legal professionals at your request.

  • We Cannot...

Interpret Wills or advise on legal meaning of clauses

Draft or revise legal documents (e.g., wills, codicils, deeds)

Act for you in any court or tribunal

    Hold or distribute estate funds

Offer regulated legal or financial advice

Appear as your lawyer or represent you as an executor legally

Our Legal Structure

Chamberside operates as a private administrative consultancy under Singapore law.

We are not a law firm and do not engage in reserved legal activities.

All guidance provided:

  • Is strictly procedural and administrative

  • Comes with clear disclaimers when legal review is advised

  • Is designed to protect (not replace) the role of qualified lawyers

Collaboration, Not Competition

Chamberside is proud to work with lawyers, not around them.

We relieve them of:

  • Non-billable family admin

  • Repeated document follow-ups

  • Misunderstood client expectations

So lawyers can focus on what they have been trained to do: provide legal advice, draft instruments, and represent your interests under the law.

Our Safeguards in Practice

  • Written scopes are shared with all clients and partners

  • Legal referrals are offered when issues fall outside our scope

  • Clear disclaimers are included in our correspondence packs

  • All executor delegation is subject to signed Letters of Authorisation (LOAs)

  • No legal fees are charged; we invoice only for support services

If in doubt, we always defer to qualified legal professionals.

If You Are a Client and you need help:

  • Understanding a Will

  • Disputing inheritance

  • Acting across international jurisdictions

  • Planning your own estate legally

We are happy to refer you to a trusted probate lawyer.

We exist to walk beside you through the emotional and procedural load.
Not to stand in for the legal voice that protects your rights.

Professional Ethics Charter

We follow a strict code of discretion and restraint:

  • No misleading claims about capability or jurisdiction

  • No overreach into legal or financial advisory

  • No client engagement that could cause ambiguity in legal boundaries

  • Immediate referral when legal ambiguity arises
